September 8: The Hui district, aka, the Muslim District of Xi'an.
The pictures from here down are from the Mosque we visited in Xi'an. There were snails everywhere and each time you heard a pop or crunch you knew you had just killed another one.

September 11: It's been Raining.
Moon cakes, moon cakes, so many moon cakes. Our class gave eleven moon cakes in a box to our teacher.
September 12: It's the Mid-Autumn festival and we are the only students in China with class. At least the sun came out after all those days of gloom and rain. I would just like to tell everyone, Potato Chips in China don't come in Potato Flavor. This is the moon of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
September 13: Terra Cotta Warriors
This tomb is the first one that had replacements for real people instead of sacrificing lives when the Emperor died. Nobody has entered the Emperor's tomb because of a possible river of mercury, traps, and the chance that entering the site will ruin it.
I think it may be the largest tomb in the world.
Did you know that the warriors all used to be painted but that in removing the warriors most of the paint that remained on them came off. There were no warriors found intact, so every warrior that you see in one piece has been reconstructed. During a peasant revolt after Qin Shi Huang Di's death during an inspection trip, the tomb was broken in to and the warriors were burnt and destroyed and their weapons were stolen.
