Day 12

The Final Voyage
September 28

The bus to Lanzhou was marked with snow covered peaks and lower down the mountain changing leaves.

The last few pictures are of the border of historic Tibet.

In LinXia we visited another Mosque, this one much different from a standard mosque.  Where mosques are normally simple and undecorated and have no animal representations this one was very ornate.

From there we had some famous beef noodles. Then headed off to Lanzhou.
There was much debate on what the animals had previously been that we were floating down the Yellow River on but after considering the fact that all of the raft managers were Muslim we decided that the skins are in fact sheep.  The water was filthy, the sheep skins were kinda gross and the man steering was coughing like death the entire ride while smoking.  We were all scared he would die and leave us drifting down the river forever.
